MEMBER SERVICES
REFERRAL SERVICES: This benefit of membership is provided to all members maintaining a practice. Patients are referred to several physicians within the same specialty and service area when they call for assistance. Background information such as medical school of graduatjion, residency, fellowship, and hospital affiliations, is given upon request.
INFORMATION SERVICES: If you need the address of a doctor, hospital, insurance company or licensing agency in another state, we maintain the information at the Society Office, as well as a wealth of other information. If we don't have what you need, we can usually get it for you.
PRACTICE SERVICES: The Society maintains regulations from the State Board of Medical Examiners, screens from Medicare and ethical opinions from MSNJ and the AMA. If you need to know what's permissible and what's not, you should check with our office. A question regarding your practice that may be new to you has most likely come to our attention previously.
ADJUDICATION SERVICES: The Society maintains a Judicial Committee that handles complaints against its members. Through this public relations mechanism, the Society successfully resolves complaints that otherwise might be sent to the State Board of Medical Examiners.
LEGISLATIVE SERVICES: The Society is in constant contact with the lobbyist for the State Society and keeps members apprised via special mailings of legislative activities affecting the practice of medicine.
NEWSLETTER SERVICES: Announcements of meetings, updates on Medicare, legislative activities, State Board of Medical Examiners, and CME activities are among the variety of subjects covered in the Newsletter. The Newsletter keeps members up to date on activities impacting on medicine.
